Have you ever wondered why one moment you are striking the ball well on the range during a warm up and 10 minutes later you’ve lost it on the course?
Or even if you aren’t playing that day and at some point during your practice session you find the groove only to realize that 24hrs later it’s gone?
Whatever you practice you are going to make permanent not perfect. If you practice the wrong things you get worse.
I’ve seen many of you practicing infrequently and for long periods.
If you brush your teeth for 3 hrs once a
week it’s not going to do
your teeth any
good either.
This is the first of many articles designed to help you with your
game but remember that
it is important to be evaluated for your
own specific needs before you begin the journey of improvement.
If you take random suggestions from books, magazines and television without evaluation, it’s like calling the doctor complaining
of an ailment and the doctor
gives you a list of medications to take without an examination. You wouldn’t even think of it. You also wouldn’t take another person’s prescription would you?
Our Core Academy coaches have been trained using the latest research in motor skill development. Find out the differences between random and block practice and why one creates more
rapid change than the other.
Let’s make 2010 the year that you replace the old with the new and learn how to make the most out of your practice or warm up before a round.
On a personal note, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff and patrons at Willow Valley for welcoming Core Academy
to your outstanding facility and we look forward to providing you
with the best coaching available.
From the back tees,
Steve
